My favorite designs are those that seem capable of infinite interpretations. A creative idea begins in one form, then gradually takes on a life of its own, as though, at certain moments, it asks to become something else.
That is how I have always felt about the Clé collection.
I had wanted to explore the Clé as a ring for some time, but could not quite find the right approach. How could its asymmetry, its dialogue of elements and its particular balance translate to a smaller scale?
The answer came in the form of an exuberant 1950s cocktail ring. More than its sparkle, it was the structure of its profile that caught my attention. The moment I saw it, I could imagine the Clé ring.
For this first iteration, I chose a restrained, bicolor composition: emeralds and diamonds of the same cut and scale, creating a subtle rhythm of color across the hand.
Where the Clé ring goes next remains open.
I can already imagine other stones, colors and personal interpretations.
